CrossFit Mentality is home to Scott Panchik, one of the world’s top Crossfit competitors. Scott and his family own and operate Mentality and take pride in their coaching, community and overall member experience.
Scott Graduated from the University of Mount Union where he studied Health and Physical Education, earned two National Championships and Academic All American Honors playing football for the Purple Raiders. After college Scott was hired as a health and physical education teacher at Mentor High School (2011-2013). During those two years Scott ran the school's strength and conditioning program, and coached football and wrestling. In 2012 Scott made his mark in the CrossFit Open winning the first workout, which lead to the opportunity to open his own gym. You can find Scott coaching and training throughout the day at Crossfit Mentality. He loves working with our members and is constantly evaluating his own training to help make others better. CrossFit Mentality is a place where Scott and his family share their passion and knowledge of the sport with the community. It is a dream they all feel blessed to have in their lives.
Christin attended the University of Mount Union as a Health and Physical Education Major, where she met Scott. As an athlete she was captain of the Purple Raiders Soccer, Track and Cross Country Teams. Christin earned 3 Team Conference Championships, an Individual Championship in the 1500m run and 2 university records. Christin also competes in Olympic Weightlifting in the 55kg division, qualifying for the National Championships and American Open Finals. Her athletic journey continued at John Carroll University where she coached Cross-Country and Track for the Blue Streaks under head coach Dara Ford. Christin found CrossFit when she started dating Scott and was looking for a competitive outlet comparable to her days as a collegiate athlete.
Christin can usually be found working on community relationships, nutrition coaching and the endurance side of programming.
Mallory is a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Coaching Education. She has USAW Level 1 Sports Performance certification, a CrossFit Level 1 certification, and her CrossFit Gymnastics certification. Her past experience includes working for Hilliard Davidson High school as the assistant Girls Varsity track and Field coach, specializing in agility, strength and conditioning, hurdles, relays and sprints. Before moving to Mentor, OH, she worked as a personal trainer and CrossFit coach at Katzenmoyer Performance specializing in sports performance and individualized training. She is now coaching CrossFit at Mentality and continuing to train clients with a variety of goals, from sports performance with specific training goals, to older adults looking to move through life with strength and ease.
Shayna graduated from the University of Mount Union with a degree in Health and Physical Education. As an athlete, Shayna played 4 years of college basketball at Mount Union where she was a captain and helped lead the raiders to an OAC championship and NCAA appearances. She has a background in a variety of sports and her athletic journey led her to coaching in the gym. Along with teaching, Shayna coaches the Fit Class, onramps, personal training, and sports specific training. Shayna enjoys working with clients of all fitness levels. Her favorite part of CrossFit is the competitiveness it continues to bring to her life as an athlete. She also loves helping people apply what they do in the gym to their every day life and helping them to achieve their goals.
Shayna is also a Healthy and Physical Education teacher in the Mentor School District!
Ben is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Ben competed in both Cross Country and Track & Field while attending CWRU and earned multiple conference scholar athlete awards. He has spent his early career working with large companies such as Procter & Gamble and General Electric as an electrical engineer and most recently spent more than two years helping a local health and wellness startup in Cleveland grow by leading, developing and fine tuning their operations. Ben first found CrossFit in Green Bay, Wisconsin when working for Procter & Gamble in 2016 and discovered his CrossFit home at Mentality in the fall of 2018. Ben’s passion for helping others has manifested itself in coaching CrossFit with the goal of always making a member’s time in class the best hour of their day!
Fee received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and Masters degree in Business and Administration at John Carroll University. Her love of fitness and health stems from being apart of sports throughout middle school, high school, and college years. Fee turned to CrossFit to enhance her fitness routine, develop healthy lifestyle habits, integrate herself into a positive community, and help satisfy her competitive appetite. She is now a two-time CrossFit Regional athlete, and made her debut as an individual at the 2019 CrossFit Games placing 25th in the world! Her passion for coaching and competing thrives by experiencing the success and constant growth of other Mentality members.
Fun Fact: ``I started CrossFit overweight, extremely intimidated, and with ZERO gymnastics/lifting experience...if I can do it ANYONE can!``

Chris's passion for health and fitness comes from 14+ years of competitive wrestling at Mentor Lake Catholic where he received 2 Year MVP honors and was a State Qualifier. Chris went on to wrestle at John Carroll University where he received a B.S.B.A with a Business Management, Entrepreneurship concentration. Before Chris was a coach at CrossFit Mentality he was a member with his girlfriend Alyssa Tyler who is now also on staff as Mentality Nutrition's Registered Dietitian. Chris is incredibly passionate about the culture and community at CrossFit Mentality and looks to continue motivating and inspiring our members. Chris's Favorite workout is ``Diane`` 21-15-9 Deadlifts and Handstand Push ups.
Alyssa Tyler MS RD LD graduated from John Carroll University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. As an athlete with a true passion for health and wellness, Alyssa furthered her education at Kent State University, receiving her Masters in Nutrition & Dietetics in 2014 and earning the title of registered dietitian after the completion of the Priority Nutrition Care Distance Dietetic Internship based in Boston, Ma in 2015. As an athlete, Alyssa has been playing competitive tennis since age 7, is a 3x marathoner and former marathon coach, and is currently a nationally qualified NPC bikini competitor.
Alyssa branched out of the corporate and clinical dietetic world in April of 2018, forming her own business Tyler Trained LLC, through which she has had the honor of working with corporations, families, and individuals of all ages and differing goals. With previous experience at the Cleveland Clinic and Lake Health, Alyssa’s specialties include weight management, sports nutrition, inflammatory conditions and gastrointestinal diseases. She is now the dietitian for Crossfit Mentality (Mentality Nutrition) and PerformaFuel Nutrition, working both remotely and in-person with clients.
Hanna is a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Wellness, completing several clinical rotations with the Ohio University Track team, South Eastern High School football and baseball teams, and an internship at SEO CrossFit. She has been serving in the Air Force since 2014 and found CrossFit through wanting to better her physical fitness for her military job. On her civilian side, she is currently coaching at CrossFit Mentality, where she is gaining experience and knowledge from the credible team of coaches and connecting with the community everyday. Additionally, she works at Code Chiro helps patients to improve their overall well-being with lifestyle advice corrective exercises. She is on a mission to spread the word of holistic health and help everyone get better together.
